Omaha Architecture

So my Wife and I took a trip to Omaha Nebraska to watch the Olympic Swimming Trials. Seriously impressive swim meet, especially for it being a whole week long. But that isn't what this post is about. We had a good amount of down time in between the preliminary session in the morning and the finals session in the evening so we got to do some exploring around downtown Omaha! It is a ridiculously vibrant city with so much going on! Even compared to the last few cities I have been to (Denver, Detroit, and ...Fargo...) it was really busy, lots going on, lots of new things being built, just expanding really fast!

Since we were going basically for vacation, I opted to only bring my Fujifilm X-Pro2, X-T1, 16-55, 90, and 100-400. A really great combination of lenses that actually did most of what I was wanting to do.

Since most of the time we were wandering around it was middle of the day bright sunlight so much contrast, I decided to focus more on doing black and white architecture photos around the city, and it really delivered. All of these photos were taken over the course of about a week, , not necessarily in any order (mainly because I don't want to have to remember the order...)

This above photo is looking up at the Union Pacific corporate headquarters building. A very well designed GIGANTIC glass and steel building.

And now because not everything HAS to be in Black and White, some COLOR PHOTOS! Yes, these photos are still from Omaha!

And I'll end off the post with some photos from one of the greatest storm sunsets that I have ever seen that was nearly impossible to photograph because I was driving during most of it...

And this popped right before the sun went down and everything got super dark.

We had a really great time in Omaha watching the Olympic Trials, and I'm sure I'll have a post on that before too long here with mostly swimming-related photos, but that is all for now, thanks for reading!
