Falltimes!

Went to the park again! This time much earlier in the morning, still sporting the 200-500 f/5.6E on my D4s, as well as my 35 f/1.4 on my D4. Killer combo there, and I am extremely happy with the photos that I ended up with.

So here are some more sample photos taken with my D4s and the new Nikon 200-500 f/5.6E, and some wider landscapes, because things. You can probably tell which photos were taken with which camera.

It is amazing how much the park changed in the week and a half since I was last there.

This next one is probably my second favorite from the morning. Sneaky deer is sneaky. Apparently I have a strange super power for seeing brown deer on brown backgrounds. I will more readily see a deer that is probably 200 feet away than a bison that is like 50 feet away.

I believe that we were pretty much there on the day that the fall colors were at their peak, as there was plenty of yellow and orange and light green around. However, all of the trees were losing their leaves very fast, and I could swear that there were less leaves there later in the day than there were when we got there just before sunrise.

I love doing landscapes at long focal lengths. Looks completely different than something wider (like, say, my 14-24.)

We didn't see too many of the wild horses or bison, but we did manage to get some great photos of both deer and a coyote, so I am feeling like the outing was a great success!

And as I said earlier, I was very happy with some of the longer focal length landscapes that I got.

As well as the Deer that we saw, we managed to come around a corner and come across a coyote who was very close to the road, allowing for some really nice close-up shots without any danger!

This one is by far my favorite shot of the day, I might like it just as much (if not more) than that shot of the pronghorn that I got on the morning of the 4th of July. Awesome.

And to finish off just a wider shot of some of the trees.
