Camping in Wyoming

So I went home to Colorado for a few days during spring break time, and I decided that since I was there, I should probably find someplace to camp for a night. So after looking at my options I decided on heading back up into Wyoming and camping at Vedauwoo, which is a large rock formation about an hour or so west of Cheyenne. I went up with my Brother and one of my College friends, so it was a fun little outing.

Note, there was still a couple feet of snow on the ground, and there was no burn ban in effect, so we were completely within our rights and safe to have a camp-fire. That being said it was also SUPER WINDY that night.

We went on a couple little walks around the nearest formation to our camp, one time as the sun was going down, once later that night, then once the next morning where my college friend and I sort of got ourselves kind of... stuck up on the top of the rocks. It was fun anyways.

As my first picture indicates, we had some pretty severe wind that night, but that didn't stop us from having a good campfire to go along with our stove, and that afforded some pretty great picture opportunities.

The dark after the sun went down but before the moon came up was actually kind of eerie. Also crazy purple, I did my best to capture it.

And my personal Favorite, of which I have a print hanging in my apartment now.

As I said, we then took another little walk after it was dark (and the moon was out in full force) to see what we could see.

The next morning was pretty much business as usual. Eggs for breakfast, pack up everything, and take another look around in the light. My brother also brought his custom-built tri-copter with him to just fly around a little bit.

After we got all packed up we headed over to the rocks you can see and decided to hike around a bit.
This is where my friend and I managed to get up on the top of the rocks, which then took quite a bit of scrambling and work to get back down again. It was great fun anyways, though, with a great view from the top.

It required some pretty technical stuff, but that makes it that much more fun!

And that is all for now!
