For all of these photos I was shooting with either my Fujifilm X-T2 + Battery Grip + 100-400 f/4.5-5.6 + 1.4x teleconverter or my Fujifilm X-Pro2 + 90 f/2 or 16-55 f/2.8. Fujifilm finally has a camera capable of tracking birds in flight!

Since it had been a while since I went up to Lake Audubon National Wildlife Refuge, I decided to head up there one Monday afternoon that I had off. While it wasn't the greatest wildlife shoot ever, I did still end up with nice photos nonetheless! I was driving around the refuge and nearby gravel roads searching out different birds for around 6 hours or so, and despite not seeing a lot of variety in birds (mostly geese and ducks) I did manage to grab a few nice photos of a couple hawks and even a golden eagle! Most of the unique birds that I saw tended to be quite a ways away though, and even sporting an approximately 900mm lens it still wasn't quite enough. Despite pheasant hunting season opening just over a week ago, I saw probably 500 pheasants flying all around the fields around the wildlife refuge. They probably know that people aren't allowed to hunt there, sneaky peasants. After I was done with the pheasants I decided to head back into the wildlife refuge in search of the owl that I have seen flying around a few times. I didn't find it, sneaky owl... But I did manage to take some really nice landscape photos amongst the trees! And even a couple of nice self-portraits! And I'll leave you with one more bird photo! Thanks for looking everyone!
